Roy Germano

Roy Germano is a Research Scholar at the New York University School of Law and Adjunct Professor in the New York University Program on International Relations. His research on Latino immigration has appeared in journals such as Perspectives on Politics, Latino Studies, and Electoral Studies. Roy also wrote, directed, and edited the award-winning 2010 documentary The Other Side of Immigration, which is based on over 700 interviews he and colleagues conducted in rural Mexico with funding from the National Science Foundation. More recently, Roy wrote, directed, and hosted the Vice News documentary series Immigrant America, which examines topics like deportation, racial profiling, and child migration in Guatemala, Honduras, and the United States. Roy holds a Ph.D. in Government from the University of Texas at Austin and a Masters in International Relations from the University of Chicago. He has provided commentary and analysis to media outlets like MSNBC, Fox News, NPR, WNYC, Vice News, Univision, and Telemundo.
